Eye Exams - Emergency Services
Total Focus' optometrists are always willing to help should you ever experience an eye health emergency. From a lost contact lens, to a broken pair of glasses, to a more serious situation such as a loss of vision, we will try to get you the treatment or products you need as soon as possible. Ocular emergencies are never fun, so let us help take the worry out of the situation. If you should need to see an ophthalmologist our, eye care doctors will make the necessary arrangements with the on-call ophthalmologist or physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital to ensure that you are not waiting in the Emergency department waiting room for an extended period of time, and delaying your visual recovery.
- Alberta Health Care now covers most ocular health emergency visits, but some restrictions still apply. Patients will not be given a prescription for eyeglasses, or contact lenses, as Alberta Health Care only covers medical emergency's.
- If you do not have a valid Alberta Health Care card or are from out of province. The fee to see one of our optometrists is $60.00 per visit.

If you should ever experience a serious visual emergency outside of our normal office hours, that you feel requires immediate medical attention, please proceed directly to the Royal Alexandra Hospital emergency room.
